Happy New Year! In this first edition for 2020, you’ll find a mix of timely, intriguing, and fun posts and articles. As always, they’re links I love and hope you will too! There’s a lovely, artful, free printable below about kindness. Please check it out, and most of all — enjoy!
- Have you, like me, ever been in a situation where everyone else is drinking and you don’t want to order an alcoholic beverage? Have you also ever noticed that others almost seem compelled to “force” you to join them? Miss Manners, Judith Martin, comes to our rescue with the perfect thing to say and do. It’s what I’ve done for years, and it’s worked every time.
- Here from Inc.com are 17 habits to get rid of so we can be more successful in life in 2020! This article was originally from 2017, hence the 17 habits. But they all still equally apply to 2020. 🙂 These are all great, and after reading the list I realized there’s about a dozen of them I need to work on for myself!
- Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to introduce to you the color of the year. Ready to begin this new decade, please meet a calming blue that just might be your new favorite shade of the color. And whether it’s a favorite or not, get ready to see a lot of it! The Pantone color of the year shows up in everything from shirts and blouses to house paint and fabric colors. If it’s not your cup of tea, Sherwin Williams Paint announced its own color of 2020. It’s bold, but it’s the color I see popping up already in stores. I’m a fan!
- I first heard about Shannon of SwtBlessings on my dear friend Christy Jordan’s mega-popular and wonderful food blog, Southern Plate. Christy shares Shannon’s monthly scripture-writing plans with the readers of her blog. While looking for a plan on SwtBlessings, I came across this amazing printable about kindness that Shannon created. A photo of it is below, and you can print out your own full-size copy by clicking here. Make sure to choose the print on the far right in her Google Doc account.

“Throw kindness around like confetti.”
“Be as quick to kneel as you are to text.”
“Treat everyone like it’s their birthday.”
These are just three of the multitude of lovely reasons and reminders to carry kindness with us and give it away daily that Shannon shares on her printable!
